High School TET 2019 Assam: Now Off-Campus And Distance Education Can Apply

Govt. of Assam has now allowed the candidates who have obtained Degrees from off-campus and distance education institutions to apply for Medium TET Assam 2019 for secondary level or High School TET 2019 Assam.

In this regard, an office memorandum has been released. It reads as follows:

Subject to amendment of Schedule – III under Rule 10 (1) (2) of Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) Service Rules, 2018 and after careful consideration of all aspects, the Government in Secondary Education Department being satisfied has decided to relax the minimum educational and professional qualifications for direct recruitment to the post of Post Graduate Teacher, Graduate Teacher, Under Graduate Teacher, Hindi Teacher, Classical Teacher (Sanskrit, Arabic, Urdu, Persian etc), Classical Teacher (Assamese Language, Manipuri Language), Music Teacher, Craft Teacher, Junior Assistant, Library Assistant and Grade – IV and decided to replace the existing words * Distance Education Institution” by the following words:

The Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates under Distance Education Mode conferred by K. K.

Handique State Open University, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) under Gauhati University and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered at par and valid with the Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates awarded by State, Central and Private Universities duly established as per law passed by the Parliament and State Legislature and duly recognised by the University Grants Commission.

As per earlier official High School TET 2019 Assam notification, Degrees obtain from off-campus and distance education institution was not to be considered as valid. 

Also, the Date of submission of Online Application for Medium wise TET for Secondary Education is extended till 30/11/2019. Consequently, the online fee submission date has been extended to 4/12/2019.
