UPSC Economic and Statistical Service Examination 2019

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Indian Economic Service (IES)/ Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination commencing from 28th June 2019 for recruitment to the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS).

Name of the Examination: Indian Economic Service (IES)/ Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2019
Number of posts: 65 posts (Indian Economic Service – 32, Indian Statistical Service – 33)

Age limitations: Candidates should not be less then 21 years and not more then 30 years as on 01.08.2019. Age relaxation in the upper age limit as per Govt. of India rules.

Education Qualification: 

a) A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

(b) A candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2019 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application Fee: Candidates have to pay Rs. 200/- either by  depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card. SC/ ST/ PH/ Female candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
