UPSC Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2019
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2019 commencing from 29th June 2019 for the recruitment to following 106 posts of Geologist in various departments of Government of India.

UPSC Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination details:
1. Name of the post: Geologist Group A
Number of posts : 50 posts in Geological Survey of India
Age limitations: Candidates should not be less then 21 years and not more then 32 years as on 01.01.2019
Education Qualification: Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology from a University incorporate d by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956)
2. Name of the post: Geophysicist Group A
Number of posts : 14 posts in Geological Survey of India
Age limitations: Candidates should not be less then 21 years and not more then 32 years as on 01.01.2019
Education Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed universities under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
3. Name of the post: Chemist Group A
Number of posts : 15 posts in Geological Survey of India
Age limitations: Candidates should not be less then 21 years and not more then 32 years as on 01.01.2019.
Education Qualification: M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 i.e. recognized University.
4. Name of the post: Jr. Hydrogeologists (Scientist B) Group A
Number of posts : 27 posts in Central Ground Water Board
Age limitations: Candidates should not be less then 21 years and not more then 35 years as on 01.01.2019
Education Qualification:
(a) Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or dec lared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or
(b) Master’s degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized University.
Application Fee: Candidates have to apply Rs. 200/- to be paid either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card. No fee for SC/ST/PH/Female candidates.
